Welcome to my first newsletter! It’s likely going to be a bit messy and chaotic, since I am doing this at the last minute. I’ve been a bit busy and feeling under the weather for a bit, so I am feeling well now, but I am very behind on many things! (That is why I did not post a review on my blog yesterday. I hope not to make it a habit, though!)
I hope to seriously start working on getting Dragon-Mage #3 (Healing of Fire) out in a couple of months. It doesn’t need a lot - mostly a little real time spent on the interior art, formatting, and a few final touches. So maybe I can dedicate a week or two to getting that done soon, and you can continue Camilla’s story!
In some ways, Healing of Fire is my favorite of the series, at least at the moment. For those of you who love Kario Flameheart and Nelexi, they are a much bigger part of this one, and you will see a huge moment - perhaps in the history of my world - featuring them. When I wrote the scene, it certainly felt like the entire history of Areaer could have been built around it and for it, even though it isn’t that flashy or epic, all things considered.
You’ll also get a deeper glimpse into the complexities of Sylvara’s and Shimmer’s relationship as dragon and rider - at the same time that Camilla and Radiance are forced to figure out and resolve some deep issues between them. Including what it really means to trust and build each other up.
And with that, I have a few sales to announce!
Today is the last day of the Smashwords Read-An-Ebook-Week Sale, and all my books - that includes the first two books about Camilla, Heart of Fire and Scars of Fire - are 50% off here.
Laura Brewer has also gone wide with her Chronicles of Asgard series, an epic fantasy with a lot of slice-of-life moments, and a fascinating mixture of Christian elements and a Norse-mythology inspired setting with Norse gods. Her prequel novella, Breaking the Chains, and the first book, Winds of Chaos, are also 50% off on Smashwords here.
And check out these collections of indie fantasy and sci-fi!
I also recently got to write a guest post for Fantasy Month on Jenelle L. Schmidt’s blog about my debut trilogy and the attitude it takes toward good vs. evil themes and fear that sets it apart. Read it here!
Thanks! And please share what you would like to see (or not!) in next month’s newsletter. And to check out my blog if you want more!
